Sunlit night

The best sleep I get these days comes right when the sun is really getting started. It's a pleasurable feeling when I fall into bed, squeeze and roll my ear plugs in to position and pull my eye mask over my face. It's quiet and dark and there is nothing that can arouse or disturb me. I'm inside of an egg and when I decide to hatch it will be many hours later. I wake up feeling groggy and grumpy though. Hungry and mysteriously wanting to cry or be hugged or both. I give myself a moment; stretch out my legs and pet baby k. I love that feeling though, the one right before I fall asleep. It's mine. All mine.
